God in every home

The Christian church "Dieva mājas" (House of God) is registered as an evangelical Christian church. It is independent and does not belong to any union of churches.

The first service was held on 11 May 2008 in Rīga and Jūrmala. In the autumn of the same year the church began meeting in Kuldīga, in 2012 in Liepāja, in 2024 in Jelgava and in 2026 in Ventspils.

Each city has its own pastor, its own team and its own weekly plan, but the teaching and the vision are shared. Together with other churches in Latvia and around the world, we are part of the body of Christ.

Pastors

We are one church in five cities, and each of them has its own pastor. In every city a local team of servants cares for the church and serves it.

What do we believe?

The Bible

The Bible is Scripture inspired by God – the infallible instruction for faith and life and the highest moral standard for people.

God

God is one, and He reveals Himself in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

People

People are created in the image and likeness of God. All people have sinned, and repentance is necessary to receive God's forgiveness.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross for the sins of people, rose again on the third day, was taken up into heaven and today sits at the right hand of God the Father.

Salvation

All who believe in God, receive salvation through Jesus Christ and turn from their sins will enter eternal life. Those who reject God and do not turn from sin will enter eternal punishment.

Baptism

Everyone who repents of their sins and receives Jesus Christ is baptised in water by full immersion, in the name of Jesus. It symbolises dying to the old life and being born into a new one.

The Holy Spirit

Jesus sent people a helper and advocate – the Holy Spirit. His power, fruit and gifts are real today as well, and we pray that they would show even more in the people of the church.

The return of Jesus

Jesus Christ will come a second time in all glory and majesty. It will happen soon, but only God knows the day and the hour.

The body of Christ

We are part of the body of Christ together with other churches in Latvia and around the world. We believe that God works in them too, and we support Christian unity under the leadership of Jesus Christ and the authority of the Bible.
